What is CBD?

CBD, short for cannabidiol, a chemical compound from the cannabis plant that is considered to have natural benefits, which is commonly known as hemp. It’s a naturally occurring substance used in products such as oils and edibles to impart a feeling of relaxation and calm. CBD is not psychoactive and it is not to be confused with THC which is predominantly found in hemp’s sister plant, marijuana.

What is the difference between CBD and THC?

The biggest difference and misconception is that CBD is non psychoactive while hemp is psychoactive causing a “high”.

THC and CBD are both cannabinoids derived from the cannabis plant, but they’re different in many ways. THC is defined by what cannabis makes you feel, while the effects of CBD are used for things such as treating symptoms of pain or anxiety. The important distinction is that, unlike THC, CBD will not intoxicate you.

Will CBD make me high?

CBD can be extracted from a cannabis plant, but it can’t get you high or in a state of euphoria as marijuana or THC. CBD may help you feel relaxed or less anxious, but you won’t get high if you choose to use a CBD-infused oil, tincture, edible, or any other method of use.

How do I know my product contains real CBD?

Good CBD oil made by a reputable company will tell you how much CBD you’re getting directly on the label. Higher numbers mean a more potent product. To be considered effective, CBD oils should contain 250–1000mg per 10ml bottle. Always by from a reliable company like HuGG, which is powered by Cannabis company CiiTECH famed for its highly reputable partnerships in research.

What are the benefits of CBD topicals?

CBD topicals interact with the body differently from products taken orally. Topical CBD has shown to be anti sebum and antioxidant. It is also fantastic for conditioning and protecting your skin. This new, natural, power ingredient is a must have ingredient for all skin types.

Is CBD addictive?

CBD is not addictive and neither are CBD vapes. CBD vape oil and CBD vape juice enters the body and boosts your Endocannabinoid System, helping our bodies with homeostasis and regulating things like sleep, mood, memory, fertility, immune function and response.

How to take CBD oil?

You can take CBD oil by putting it directly under your tongue (that part of the mouth is a capillary-rich area and so the CBD will reach your bloodstream quicker). Try dropping a dose of CBD under your tongue and holding it there for a minute before swallowing.

How do I find the right CBD product for me?

First step in choosing the right product is understanding what you want to use it for.

The next stage in your product choosing journey is selecting the format that works for you. There are so many different CBD products on the market, including oils, capsules, gummies and creams.

Each format will affect you in a slightly different way, for example some have a quicker effect than others. Some people will prefer an edible or cream to start with as it’s something more familiar, while others might want to start off with an oil or tincture straight away as that’s what they’ve heard the most about.

You also need to think about where the CBD needs to reach. For skin conditions or pain in one specific area, you might want to opt for a topical format, whereas other formats such as oils are more suited to conditions where the CBD needs to enter your bloodstream.
